Combining two high-speed USB 3.0 ports with a card reader, this compact and elegant device delivers lightening-fast connectivity and file transfer capabilities. 1. USB-C Power Charging Pass-Thru
You have uboxed your new laptop and found you only have one port to use for power or peripherals. How can you connect any devices while your laptop is charging through the one USB-C port? There is no need to worry about running out of power while using the IOGEAR USB-C hub. When you plug-in your laptop's original USB-C AC charger to the USB-C port, this USB-C to SD/MIcroSD USB-A Adapter hub will use the charger as power source and provide up to 60W of power delivery to your laptop and the USB devices that are concurrently connected to the hub. When you are not charging your laptop, you can use the USB-C port to plug in any cutting edge USB-C devices like today's new smartphones and tablets to charge and transfer data.
2. USB Type-A Expansion Port
You can immediately expand your USB-C Hub up to two USB Type-A 3.0 expansion ports and connect any of your current USB Type-A devices. The hub can deliver up to 5.0Gbps of data transfer rate. When you transfer pictures, videos, and music from your USB 3.0 hard drives or flash drives, you can enjoy the blazing fast transfer speeds which is over ten times as fast as USB 2.0. It is also backwards compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices for your legacy peripherals like your keyboard, mouse, printer, scanner, HDD, etc. When not using this as an expansion port, you can connect your smartphone or tablet to charge and transfer data.

Ex. If your USB-C power supply is 60W, then the maximum power can be delivered to the laptop is 60W-7.5W = 52.5W.
Regardless of the capacity of your USB-C power supply, the maximum power can be delivered to your laptop is 52.5W.
